I searched on the internet for business
studies degree courses and after visiting several colleges
in person I decided Oxford House College was the best
choice. I was especially attracted by the flexibility
to start the course at different times of the year.
My goal is to manage my own business, but first I wish
to gain some professional commercial experience and get
my degree. The Business Studies degree pathway at Oxford
House College is ideal. I’ve already completed the
first stage – the International Diploma –
in just 6 months. Soon I will complete stage 2 - the International
Advanced Diploma – and then I’ll be ready
to do the final year. At the end I’ll be awarded
a BA Honours Degree in Business Management from The University
of Sunderland with just 2 years of total study.
After graduating I plan to do an MBA and work for a few
years in a bank or large commercial business before running
my own company – either in the UK or at home in
Morocco.
My teachers are brilliant. Azmat teaches Quantitative
Methods, Management, Accountancy and Business Communications.
He is very friendly and always has plenty of time for
students, especially when exams are approaching.
Nina teaches Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Management.
She explains very well, encourages group discussion and
makes the subject seem easy.
They both give us a comprehensive understanding of the
subject, explain the concepts well and prepare us thoroughly
for exams. They show us how to plan using the course workbooks,
how to study independently and encourage us to help one
another in class.
The study facilities are great. On my course I need to
do a lot of private study so I find the long opening hours
very useful, especially as I can use the computers and
study in peace in the library.
The canteen has good food and low prices, especially
when on a student budget.
The college reception staff are very friendly and helpful
with whatever you ask. They were particularly great when
I first arrived and helped me feel welcome. Nadith the
course Director of Studies always has time for you too.
I’m really happy with the service I receive.
When I’m not studying I love life in London - I
don’t feel like a foreigner here. I especially like
the freedom you have and the respect people show for one
another. Every community from around the world is represented.
You can do anything, go anywhere, at any time and its
safe to do so. I most like the nightlife, the museums
and the big parks. London is also a great base to travel
from – you can quickly reach the rest of the UK
and Europe from here.
I’ve already recommended the college to my cousin
who is starting a computer course. I recommended it because
of the quality of the programmes, the flexibility of study
time, the great facilities and the central location. I
feel at home and have made many friends here.
